Reflecting on a Year of Transformation: Insights and Learnings

This year has been an enlightening journey for me, full of introspection and outreach, as I’ve navigated the evolving landscapes of leadership and change. As the founder of Liminist, I’ve had the opportunity to delve into the depths of transformation and share my insights across various platforms. In this reflection, I highlight four significant moments from 2023—instances where I either shared my expertise or was the subject of focus—that encapsulate my journey through the year.

Managing Change: A Personal Philosophy

On North Fulton Business Radio, I had the opportunity to discuss my innovative approach to executive coaching with Liminist. I spoke about how the company got started, defining what it means to be in a “liminal state” and sharing methods to navigate these transformative phases. My focus has always been on making change a manageable and positive experience for both executives and companies.

Navigating the Thresholds of Change

My personal story, intertwined with Liminist’s purpose, illustrates my dedication to guiding individuals and companies through their liminal states. I’ve always had an affinity for risk-taking and seeking out new challenges. These experiences have shaped me and infused my approach to coaching—where I serve as a guide through the process of achieving remarkable success in times of uncertainty.

The Art of the Pivot: Transformational Coaching

In a discussion titled “Leadership and Living a Prioritized Life,” I explored the ‘art of the pivot’—the process of embracing change to achieve audacious goals. This concept is integral to transformational coaching, which focuses on improving the bottom line and results. It is in these liminal spaces, the in-between of life’s stages, where we find ourselves most open to learning and growth.

The CMO Symposium: Redefining Leadership

My time at The Chief Marketing Officer Institute’s CMO Symposium was nothing short of inspirational. I shared key takeaways with fellow CMOs and thought leaders, stressing the importance of empathetic leadership, cultural relevance, and intellectual curiosity. We discussed the challenges of hyper-local operations, the necessity of speaking the language of finance, and the significance of aligning with sales teams. Embracing a culture that leads to a competitive advantage in the marketplace was a central theme.

In Sum…

In weaving together these varied threads, my aim has been to illustrate the power of a transformative mindset. Whether it’s managing change, navigating new thresholds, mastering the art of the pivot, or leading with empathy and foresight, these experiences have reinforced my belief in the potential for greatness that lies within the liminal spaces of our lives and careers.

As I look back on the year, I am reminded of the importance of being open to learning, asking for help, and leading with intention. It’s about making informed decisions that prioritize effectively, and it’s about building a legacy of positive impact. My journey through these moments of transition has solidified my role not just as a coach, but as a partner to those seeking to fly on the edge of transformation.

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!
